MATT BIGGS (Producer-Director)

Matt Biggs

Matt began his career as an artist and illustrator and became a full-time filmmaker in 2000. He has filmed in places such as Athens, Bratislava, Berlin and New York but it is in rugged North Devon that Matt draws his inspiration.

He has so far worked on documentaries, music videos, short films and features, but it is “Shattered Summer” (2012) that is proving to be a particular joy; “It’s been in the pipeline for a few years and it’s exciting to see it finally being realised on screen”. Matt counts Ridley Scott as one of his key influences and his favourite film is 1967’s “The Graduate” (“Great script, great acting, great camerawork, no VFX and one of the best soundtracks in history!”)

In his spare time, Matt enjoys mountain-biking, surfing, playing the guitar and spending time with his wife, Jo, and 3 month-old whippet Ridley.

“Film is the most exciting medium to work in. It brings together almost every other art form, be it music, fashion, etc… and there’s a record of all your hard work at the end!”

Bradley Aston (Script Writer)

Bradley Aston

Brad was born in Manchester, England, in 1973. At a very young age, he decided he wanted to be the greatest British actor since Roger Moore and promptly signed up to study drama at MMU; then promptly quit when they asked him to “lie on the floor and sizzle like an egg”. The next few years saw Brad travelling the world, smoking Gauloises and writing mostly bad poetry. He settled in North Devon in 1999, where he still lives with his partner Angela, his dog Lenny, and cats Sky and Kia. Outside of Artaura Productions, Brad’s interests include football (watching, not playing), books (reading, not writing) and “having a bit of a think”. He is currently working on three screenplays and co-producing two film projects, all of which seemed like a good idea at the time.
